WRINKLE RELAXING INJECTIONS
This treatment involves the injection of Botulinum toxin to relax facial muscles and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to create a more rested and rejuvenated appearance. These fine lines develop over time on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. At Lune, we use a unique treatment method to gently relax the facial muscles responsible for creating these fine lines and a tired appearance. This method creates a subtle and natural result leaving you with a refreshed and rested appearance. A consultation is included with each treatment. What is involved?
We start with a thorough consultation to discuss your medical history, assess your needs and address any concerns that you may have. We then carry out a facial assessment, create a bespoke treatment plan in collaboration with you to achieve the results that you desire. We discuss what to expect during the treatment and potential risks prior to taking pre-treatment photographs. We use a very small needle to delicately inject botulinum toxin to the treatment areas with minimal discomfort. Small red bumps are visible at the injection sites which typically settle down 20 minutes later. We will then provide after care instructions to you and schedule a review appointment. Results are typically seen in one week with full treatment effect visible at 2 weeks. At this point we recommend a check in, especially for our new clients where we assess the results and can make any necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect result.
Is there downtime required ?
There is no social downtime required for this treatment. You will have small bumps on the surface of the skin where the injections were made which typically lasts for 20 minutes.
Is the treatment suitable if pregnant or breastfeeding ?
We do not recommend any injectable treatment for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

How long does it take to carry out the treatment ?
The treatment including a thorough consultation typically takes 30 minutes with additional time allowed to address concerns and answer any questions that you may have.
How long do the results last for ?
The effect of the treatment varies from one person to another. The result typically lasts for 3-4 months wearing off gradually during this time. We recommend repeat treatments every 4-6 months to maintain the result and as a prevention strategy to prevent new wrinkles and deep-set wrinkles from forming.
What happens after the treatment?
Results are typically seen 7 days after treatment with full effect visible at 2 weeks. We advise a review appointment at this time to assess the results and administer further treatment if required to ensure a symmetrical, balanced and beautiful result.
Precare
Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment. Avoid any other beauty or aesthetic treatment two weeks prior to treatment. Avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen as well as fish oils, St Johns Worst or Vitamin E for 7 days prior to treatment as these may cause an increase risk of bleeding and bruising at the treatment site. Please do not wear makeup prior to treatment.
Aftercare
Avoid wearing makeup for 2 hours after treatment. Avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Avoid rubbing or massaging the injected areas, pat only as needed for 24 hours post treatment. Avoid using retinol or vitamin A treatments for 24 hours after treatment. Avoid any other skin treatment for 1 week after.
